While it felt that the whole of Venice, CA was getting deconstructed into concrete and glass boxes in the early aughts, we responded by expanding a small bungalow. By recreating the original millwork and extending it throughout the home which grew from a single story to three, it no longer felt quite as unassuming. The home borrowed the feeling of loftiness from the open plans of the concrete and glass boxes while keeping its humble origins.
