This house calls for hard edges to pull it out of its cookie cutter craftsman mold. An industrial leaning kitchen with black soapstone, rolled steel custom designed planter boxes and hood, and blackened steel lights help to offset the common vernacular of a late 20th century Americana Craftsman. We were drawn to the primitive, and to the handmade as well as large washes of herbaceous greens to offset the mid toned millwork throughout the home. Given that its surroundings would provide ample sunlight throughout the year, we felt each room could drift into different mood states forgoing the need to be upbeat all the time.
